Basil Hadley

Basil Hadley (1940 – 2006) was born in England . It was not until the mid 70’s that he settled in Adelaide. Since his first exhibition in England in 1961 he has had in excess of 70 solo exhibitions in Australia and over sea’s and won many awards. Although successful in his work it was not until 1990 that Hadley gained recognition with the first retrospective exhibition of his paintings.  Hadley was one to experiment, constantly exploring new mediums and techniques, once feeling he had accomplished one technique he would move on to try something new.  Hadley’s complete love of the Australian landscape and inherent sense of humour is evident in his art works.
