David Bromley

David Bromley was born in Sheffield, England, in 1960 and came to Australia in 1964.

Though producing a wide variety of figurative mixed media works in the past Bromley’s recent works have developed around two main themes, the Boys Own adventure series depicting young children at play and the Female Nude series.

His use of colour and figurative expressionism from the pop art genre result in nostalgic images incorporating the innocence of youth.

His female nudes retain a contemporary feel through the use of layering textures such as metallic paint and leaf.

Bromley has exhibited in more than 30 solo exhibitions both locally and internationally.

He has been an Archibald Prize finalist on five separate occasions including 2008.
