Wim Boissevain

William (Wim) Boissevain was born in 1927, in New York, USA. He studied at L'Academie des Beaux Arts, Paris, and at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, London.

After travelling the world as a child he moved to Australia with his family where he has lived and worked ever since.
These worldwide experiences are evident in his choice of subjects translating to a strong realist style and distinctive technique.

In 1978 he was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to the advancement of art.

Working from his studio in the Darling Ranges near Perth, W.A  Boissevian’s sensitive approach to figurative work, eye for line and form, and a strong sense of colour has earned him an international reputation.
